Martin D. “Marty” Weaver

Martin D. “Marty” Weaver, 57, of Nazareth, PA passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 in Ft. Myers, FL.

Born: March 13, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA, growing up in Springtown, PA he was a son of Joyce Weaver Schaeffer of Quakertown and the late Samuel W. Schaeffer.

Personal: He had been employed by Casilio Concrete for 23 years.

Survivors: Mother; son: David Weaver of Quakertown, PA; daughters: Kathy Batcsics of Ft. Myers, FL; Brandy Miller of Hellertown, PA; brothers: Russell, Samuel and Jesse Schaeffer; sisters: Susan, Janelle and Paulette Schaeffer, Nicole DeLong; 4 grandchildren and wife: Barbara Piraino. He was predeceased by a former wife: Darlene Rapuzzi Weaver in 1997.

Services: Were private; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton was in charge of arrangements. Interment: Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Alexis Orta, Jr.

July 5, 2012

Alexis Orta, Jr. was stillborn July 5, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the son of Dlwanna Parker and Alexis Orta, Sr. of Easton.

Survivors: parents: Dlwanna and Alexis, Sr.; sisters: Nyssa and Yahryzah; grandmother: Eunice Parker and great- grandmother: Sallie Parker.

Arrangements: Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.

Raymond William Millhime

July 3, 2012

Raymond William Millhime, 88, of Palmer Twp. died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in his home.

Born: January 2, 1924 in Dushore, PA he was a son of the late Henry and Luvernia Bartlow Millhime.

Personal: He had been a police officer and body guard for Doris Duke before retiring from Magnesium Electron, Ltd. in New Jersey. A highly decorated WWII Navy veteran he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Navy Commendation Medal. His ship, the USS Bataan served in 7 naval battles in the Pacific and was present when the surrender was signed by the Japanese. He was also a veteran of the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the invasion and siege of Iwo Jima.

Memberships: He was a member of New Creation UCC, Palmer Twp. and was the AVAWT Commander of the American Veterans, Post #1776 in Washington Twp., NJ; life member of Darcy Lodge, F&AM, Lambertville and Past Worthy Patron, O.E.S, Washington Chapter.

Survivors: 6 children: Mark and his wife Kathy, Beverly Pickering and her husband Rob of Easton; James and his wife Monica of Durham, ME; Michael and his wife Kristen of Portland, OR; Joy Holmes and her husband Ed of Gresham, OR; Bonnie Snyder of Flemington, NJ; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday (7/7) in the church, 3730 Nicholas St., Easton, PA with a calling period from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday (tonight) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment will be Noon Monday in Fairview Cemetery, Dushore,  PA with Military Honors.

Jessica L. Williams

July 2, 2012

Jessica L. Williams, 62, of Bethlehem Township, PA died Monday, July 2, 2012 in St. Luke’s Hospice House.

Born:  December 7, 1949 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late George, Jr. and Ruth B. (Wink) Hunara.

Personal:  She and her husband, Donald C. Williams, Sr. were married 46 years.  She worked at Binney and Smith for 37 years.

Survivors:  Husband, Donald; two sons, Donald Williams, Jr. and his wife, Tracey of Bethlehem and Michael Williams of Florida; four brothers, James, Anthony, John and William Hunara; four sisters, Carole Cappellano, Rosalind Gambino, Tracie Hunara and Ellen Owen and eight grandchildren.  Two brothers, George and Raymond Hunara and a grandson died earlier.

Services:  Private.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Robert C. Allen

July 1, 2012

Robert C. Allen, 73, of Wilson Borough died Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Manor Care, Palmer Township.

Born:  October 5, 1938 in Upper Black Eddy, he was a son of the late Robert and Anna (Pursel) Allen.

Personal:  He was a self-employed roofer in the Lehigh Valley.  After retiring, he worked at Wal-Mart, Palmer Township.  He was an avid bowler at BarDon and Warren Lanes and he served in the Navy.

Survivors:  A son, Todd S. Allen of Easton, three brothers, Donald, Roland and Melvin Allen and two sisters, Arlene Pursell and Ruth Ann Wolfe.

Services:  A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Friday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 3:30 pm until service on Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials:  American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Robert E. “Bob” “Pop” James

June 29, 2012

Robert E. “Bob” “Pop” James, 91, of Palmer Twp. died Friday, June 29, 2012 in Easton Hospital.

Born: November 20, 1920 in Weaversville, PA he was a son of the late Walter and Alverta Rockall James. He and his wife the former Eleanor MoDavis have been married for 67 years.

Personal: He had been a mail handler at the Lehigh Valley Post Office for 23 years before retiring in 1990. Prior to that he was employed by the Mohican Bakery for 23 years. He was a 1940 graduate of Easton High School and WWII Navy veteran.

Memberships: He was a very active member of First Moravian Church, Easton for more than 75 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Brown & Lynch Post and MORA Club of Bethlehem.

Survivors: His wife Eleanor; daughter: Roberta “Bobbi” James of Avenel, NJ; sister: Dolly Rapp of Easton; 2 grandchildren: John and Stacey McCree and 4 great-grandchildren: Max, Savannah, Gavin and Veronica.. He was predeceased by a daughter: Nancy Lee Beckman in 2011 and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Thursday (7/5) in First Moravian Church, 225 N. 10th St., Easton; with visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 in the church; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Norine Louise Dalrymple

Norine Louise Dalrymple, 101, of Palmer Twp. died Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Easton Hospital.

Born: July 20, 1910 in San Diego, CA she was a daughter of the late Carl and Agnes Fosburg Jacobson. Her husband Harold G. Dalrymple died in 1981, they were married in 1936 on Valentine’s Day.

Personal: A 1928 graduate of Easton High School she had been employed by the Sterling Products and Mack Printing companies for many years. She also loved camping and traveling.

Memberships: She was a member of the former Grace UCC Church, Easton.

Survivors: She was a loving mother to her children: Randi L. Shelhamer and her husband Garth of Jackson, NJ; Joel G. Dalrymple and his wife Janet of Allentown; sister: Marion Border of Palmer Twp.; 2 granddaughters: Renae Hansen, Jessica Dalrymple; and a great-grandson: Lucas.

Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (7/3) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton; with visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Mem. Shrine.

Richard H. Kreitz

June 28, 2012

Richard H. Kreitz, 58, of Easton, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born: February 13, 1954 in Easton, he was a son of the late Herman R. and Lois (Bertrand) Kreitz.

Personal: He was a nursing aid at various nursing homes in the Lehigh Valley. He was an athletic trainer at Easton Area High School, Nazareth High School and Northampton Community College.  He was also a PIAA track official for over 30 years.

Memberships: He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church, Easton.

Survivors: A brother, James P. Kreitz of Easton and a nephew Jason and his wife, Michelle.

Services:  A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time.
