Marjorie Laub Crannell

Marjorie Laub Crannell, 96, formerly of Easton, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth, where she resided.

Born: September 23, 1914 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Judge Herbert Laub and Hannah Cooley Laub.

Personal: Her husband Richard W. Crannell died in 1996. She attended College Hill schools and graduated from Miss Wrights’ School, Bryn Mawr in 1932. She was very active in various civic affairs and was twice residential co-chair for the former Community Chest annual drives.

Memberships: She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Easton and served for 22 years on the Womens Board of Easton Hospital. She had also been a member of the United Fund Board, the Visiting Nurse Assoc. Board, Northampton Country Club, Mink Pond Club, and was a founding member of Forks of the Delaware Garden Club.

Survivors: two children, Marjorie C. Younglof of Manassas, VA, Richard W. Crannell, Jr. of Somers, NY; two grandchildren, Erik Younglof of Dallas, TX and Kai Crannell of Somers, NY. She is predeceased by her husband Richard, and a granddaughter, Eva R. Crannell in 2009.

Services: Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2 in the church, 333 Spring Garden St., Easton, with interment in Easton Cemetery. The Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton is in charge of arrangements.
