Gloria A. Robison

Gloria Ann Robison, 83, formerly of Nazareth and Easton, PA, died May 9, 2022 in Fellowship Community, Whitehall, PA.  She was the wife of the late Paul S. Robison for 63 years.  Born December 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Florian S. Aicher and Esther (Musselman) Aicher.

Her last place of employment was the Northampton County Bar Association where she worked for over 20 years.  She graduated from Wilson Area High School in 1956.   She was a member of the Fellowship Church and choir and one of the church soloists.  She was also a soloist on their church television program, “Fellowship Echoes.”  She started singing solos as a teenager at Bethel Memorial Church.

She is survived by her son, Timothy P. Robison of Sterling, VA; two daughters, Deborah J. Flanagan of Bethlehem, PA and Cindy L. Bottos of Nazareth, PA; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband, Paul and her brother, Florian S. Aicher, Jr.

Services are 10 AM Saturday, May 14 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton Street, Easton, with a calling period from 9  to 10 AM in the funeral home.  Interment is in Forks Cemetery.

Gail S. Cornish

Gail S. Cornish

Gail S. Cornish, 84 of Bethlehem, PA died Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Kirkland Village. Born December 20, 1937 in Easton, PA she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Madeleine (Sharp) Schumann. She was a 1955 graduate of Washington High School and former teacher’s aide at Lehigh Valley Head Start. Gail was a member of the Palmer Moravian Church, Palmer Twp. and former member and Past President of the Easton Area Jaycee Wives. She had been a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Easton Hospital, the Weller Center for Health Education Apple Corps and the URW Club. She was also a volunteer Exhibit Interpreter at the Crayola Factory and Meals on Wheels volunteer.

Gail is survived by her 4 children: Kim A. Malavolta (Dennis) of Stockertown, PA, Kelley A. Cornish (Linda) of NYC, NY, Kyle R. Cornish (Lynn) of Coopersburg, PA and Kevin M. Cornish (Kelly) of Lake Mary, FL; brothers: Mark and David Schumann; 7 grandchildren: Ryan, Megan, Dustin, Lucas, Kaitlyn, Harrison and Myles; a great-granddaughter: Cameron and her constant companion for 20 years: Robert Bergren. She was predeceased by her husband: Richard G. Cornish in 1994 and her brother: Robert Schumann.

A Celebration of Gail’s Life will be held from 2 to 6 PM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Llantrisant Wellness Center, 336 Bushkill Dr., Tatamy, PA. Dress is casual, food and drink will be provided.

Charlene A. Reed

Charlene A. Reed, 54, of Easton, died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in her home. Born December 8, 1967 in Easton, she was a daughter of Mary (Bartholomew) Woeppel of Easton and the late Charles Easterday.

Surviving with her mother, Mary, are her husband, Russell A. Reed; two sons, Jeremy Reed and his wife, Brandi of Easton; and Scott Statler of Easton; a step-daughter, Lauren Stout of Easton; two sisters, Tammy Brunstetter and Angie Broach; and seven grandchildren. A son, Steven Schratt and a brother, Charles Easterday died earlier.

Betty Jane Todd

Betty Jane Todd, 96, formerly of Bangor, died Monday, May 2, 2022 in Gracedale. Born April 28, 1926 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late John Bauman and Annie Jane (Allio) Weaver. She worked at Weller Electric, Magnetic Winding and Country Miss and was an avid bowler at Bar-Don Lanes. She was of the Lutheran Faith and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Helm of Kunkletown; a son, Robert Todd of Florida; a sister, Norma Peebles of Vermont; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Two sisters, Barbara Borger and Emma Shupp and three grandchildren died earlier.

Eric C. Leuschner

Eric C. Leuschner, 62, of Forks Township, died Sunday, May 1, 2022 in his home. Born November 20, 1959 in Woodbury, NJ, he was a son of the late Curt E. and Elaine (Milnor) Leuschner. He and his wife, Marjorie (Dennee) Leuschner were married 33 years. Eric was a project engineer for Foster Wheeler for over 20 years. He was a member of Arndt’s Lutheran Church and a leader with Boy Scout Troop #29.

Surviving with his wife, Marjorie are a son, Zachary Leuschner and his wife, Leah; a daughter, Jessica Leuschner; a brother, Carl Leuschner; and a sister, Debra Thompson.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Arndt’s Lutheran Church, 1851 Arndt Rd., Easton. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. George Sherman Stem, Jr.

May 1, 2022

George Sherman Stem, Jr., 88 formerly of Easton, PA died Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Gracedale. Born February 18, 1934 in Wilson Borough, PA he was a son of the late George S. and Claire (Benjamin) Stem. He had been employed by the Easton Area School District for many years before retiring and was a member of the former Olivet Presbyterian Church, Easton. He was also a member of the Easton Senior Citizens Center and a life member of the Sertoma Club.

He is survived by sisters: Carol Ann Stem of Forks Twp., PA, Mary Ellen Humes of Whitehall, PA; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by 3 siblings: Thomas and James Stem and Elizabeth C. Smith.

Graveside services are 11 AM Thursday (May 5) in Easton Cemetery (formerly Easton Heights), North 10th St., Easton. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.

Carl J. Brown

Carl J. Brown

Carl J. Brown, 98 of Palmer Twp., PA died Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born April 26, 1924 in Bangor, PA he was a son of the late Clarence and Marion (Seibert) Brown. He was a graduate of Bangor High School, Eckels College of Mortuary Science and attended East Stroudsburg University. He was a Tech Sergeant in the Marine Corps during WWII where he served in the South Pacific-China Theatre then was called back to serve during the Korean War. He was employed by Lehigh Foundry, now Victaulic. He was in Sales and Marketing, retiring in 1989 as plant manager at the Apex Plant in New Village, NJ.

Carl was a member of Palmer Moravian Church. He served the American Legion, Post #9 on the Executive Board and was recognized as Veteran of the Year by the Joint Veterans Council, Forks of the Delaware in 2004. He was a Distinguished Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Palmer Twp. and PA Kiwanis Lt. Governor, receiving the George Hixon Award (Kiwanis International’s highest award) in 2004. He co-founded and was a Kiwanis Club Advisor to the Wilson Area High School and Notre Dame High School Key Clubs. He served on the Board of Palmer Twp. B.I.P. for 15 years; was a member of the Sales and Marketing Executives; a Past-President of the Palmer Twp. Advisory Board and served on the Board of Supervisors. He was a Past-President of the Palmer Twp. Republican Committee; a member of VFW Post 3850 in Wailuku, Hawaii; and former member of the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Speakers Bureau and Board.

Carl dedicated 50 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America and was a Silver Beaver Recipient. He was a charter member of the Friends of Edison National Historic Site, presenting over 100 lectures as a Thomas A. Edison Historian. Carl served on the Board of LANTA; the Vocational Technical School Authority; Easton Area Joint Sewer Authority; and was a Palmer Twp. Auditor from 2001-2005. He volunteered at the Easton Area Public Library and Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Lehigh Valley Post Card Club. Carl personally distributed small American flags to family members with children in the military. He, with his wife, established the Andrea Lynn Brown Memorial Scholarship at Wilson High School.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Carolyn (Wilson) Brown; daughters: Deborah Brown of Bethlehem, Marcia Eilenberger (Thomas S.) of Wilson Borough; sister: Shirley Pysher (Wayne L.) of Palmer Twp.; 2 granddaughters: Lyndsey Amato (Phillip M.) of Allentown and Andrea Eilenberger (husband, Brian Stickler) of Pittsburgh; and 2 great-grandsons: Phillip and Maxwell Amato. A daughter, Andrea Lynn died in 1979 and his son, Kenneth J. died in 2020. His brother, Kenneth, also died earlier.

Services are 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 4 at Palmer Moravian Church, 2901 John St., Palmer Twp., PA 18045. A Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Burial with military honors will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Pamela E. Brewer

Pamela E. Brewer

Pamela E. Brewer, 64 of Forks Twp., PA died Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital. Born March 22, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN she was the daughter of the late Nancy (Clevenger) and William P. Engel. She was a graduate of Bowie High School in Maryland and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and her master’s degree from James Madison University. She retired as the Associate Dean of Students at Lafayette College after 30 years of employment. Prior to that she was employed by Albright College. Pam was an active member of College Hill Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Deacon, participated in the Choir and Bible Study group, and volunteered for meals on wheels. She was also a member of the Northampton Country Club and their marketing and member services committee. She loved her family, her friends, trips to the beach, yoga, art and time with her grandchildren.

Pam is survived by her husband of 39 years, Lloyd G. Brewer; 2 children: Jason L Brewer (Caroline) of Doylestown, PA, Amy Beachy (David) of Harleysville, PA; and 5 grandchildren: Jack, Nora, Allison, Brandon and Maclin.

A Memorial Service will be held 1PM Friday, May 13th at Colton Chapel, Lafayette College, Easton with a calling period from noon to 1 PM. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.
