Robert E. Zimmerman, 93, of West Easton, died Friday, May 17, 2019 in ManorCare, Palmer Township.
Born November 15, 1925 in Easton, he was a son of the late William R. and Anna (Brotzman) Zimmerman.
He worked in the Easton knitting mills and served in the Navy during WWII. He was an avid baseball player and bowler.
Surviving are his children, Ronald Zimmerman, Diana vonSchlichten and Robert Zimmerman, Jr., a brother, Richard Zimmerman, many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His siblings, William Zimmerman, Frederick Zimmerman and Virginia Edwards died earlier.
Services will be private. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

As a child you hated me for shooting out the windows at the factory with my bb gun, as a young adult, you drank with me and played quoits, at the Young Dem’s well into your 80’s even after they stopped making your favorite whiskey “Schenley”… Even though I haven’t seen you in years, you were still occasionally in my thoughts, and you will be missed… God speed Zimmy, I hope you’re staring at a million sets if gam’s for eternity….
