Willard R. “Dagwood” Rissmiller

Willard “Dagwood” R. Rissmiller, 87, of Williams Township, passed away at home after an eleven year battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was born July 7, 1927 to the late Samuel and Florence (Messinger) Rissmiller.

He was the husband of Marie (Paolini) Rissmiller.  Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage.

He retired after 45 ½ years employed at Mack Printing Co., Easton.  He loved to make others smile which fit right into the 25 years he spent playing Santa for the Williams Township Fire Co., the Williams Township Elementary School, area day cares, Riegelsville Fire Co., private parties, and neighbors.  He also enjoyed bowling and bocce with his friends.

He was a member of Christ Evangelical Congregational “Blue” Church, Liberty Hose Co., and the Fleas Club where he served as president.

Surviving along with his wife, Marie, is a daughter, Vicki L. Drake and her husband, Bryan; a granddaughter, Emily Drake; a brother Merle Rissmiller, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Gladys (Hoffman) Rissmiller; sisters, Grace Rittenhouse, Pauline Primrose, and Betty Hunsicker; brothers, Raymond, Samuel, and Stanley Rissmiller; and a nephew, Richard Hunsicker.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 am until service time.  Interment will be in Raubsville Cemetery.

    Aunt Marie, Vicky and family,
    We are so sad to hear of Uncle Bills passing. He was, is and always will be a great man! I know all of his family on the other side have welcomed him home with open arms! You all have my sympathy during this time. And if you need anything, I am always here. God Bless you all!
