Bertha “Birdie” Hillman

Bertha “Birdie” Hillman of Palmer Township passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Old Orchard Health Center.  She was surrounded by family and devoted caregivers at Old Orchard.

Personal: She was the wife of the late Edward Hillman who died in 1995.  Birdie graduated from Easton High School in 1929 at the age of 14.  She was employed by the County of Northampton and worked in the Tax Claim office retiring in 1972.  The family extends their thanks to all the dedicated staff at Old Orchard and Connie Hendershot her “girl”.

Memberships: She was a member of the B’nai Abraham Synagogue, Easton for 60 years.

Survivors: Her son and daughter in law, Herb and Sally Hillman, a grandson, Jarrett Hillman of Palmer Township and a sister, Shirlee Wenzel of Bucks County.  She was one of eleven brothers and sisters.

Services: Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday at the B’nai Abraham Cemetery, South Side, Easton.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
