David L. Harvey, Jr.

David L. Harvey, Jr., 81, of Plainfield Township, formerly of Wilson Borough, died Monday, February 5, 2024 in St. Luke’s Hospital. Born June 11, 1942 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late David L. and Elsie (Heller) Harvey. He and his wife, Priscilla M. (Orth) Harvey were married 57 years. David graduated from Wilson High School in 1960 and served in the US Army Signal Corp in Germany during the Vietnam War where he attained the Rank of Spec 4 Radio Operator & Artillery & received commendation as a marksman. He established, owned and operated the Forks Gun Shop in Easton, Pa for a number of years and was a supervisor of the electronics design drafting department for Bell & Howell in Phillipsburg and Allentown. David was an avid fisherman and sport shooting enthusiast and competed at PA State Trap Shooting amateur events. He was the treasurer for the Pocono Slate Belt Shooting Association and was a member of the Phillipsburg Pistol Club. He was the treasurer for the Philadelphia Kerry Blue Terrier Club and was actively involved in the rescue and rehoming of numerous Kerries from around the country through the Kerry Blue Terrier Foundation. He also enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors.

Surviving with his wife, Priscilla, are a daughter, Kristin Harvey Kunsman and her husband, Shane, and a grandson, Jacob David Kunsman. He was predeceased by two sisters, Janice Sherman and Karen Miller.

    Pris & Kristin,
    So sorry for your loss of Dave. He was so thoughtful & ready to make everyone’s day a little better. I’ll always remember him laughing. I know he’s with his puppies in Heaven now & finally has found peace.
