Grace Alice Sandwick Price, formerly of Easton, died Saturday, March 2nd at age 93 years, 8 months, at Cedarbrook, Bethlehem. Grace was born June 10th, 1930 in her maternal grandparents’ home, Ramsay Manor, outside of Hellertown. She was the third of four children of the late Jessie Ramsay and Charles Sandwick, Sr. When the great depression eased the Sandwicks moved their family to Easton where Grace’s parents became teachers in the Easton School District.

She graduated from Easton High School Cl’1948 and attended Kutztown College for one year before marrying John H. Price. Together they had three children, Patricia Price (wife of David J. O’Connell), Teresa Price (wife of Allen Gangaware) all of Easton and John H. Price (and his wife Billiemae) of Forks Township.  Grace is also survived by six grandchildren (Andrew, Nicholas, Kathryn, Alexander, Ashley and Christopher) and five great-grandchildren (Lydia, Meghan, Primo, Roman and Aurora). She out-lived her beloved siblings, Charles Sandwick, Jr., Kathryn Sandwick Harlan and Carol Sandwick Osen.

A lifelong volunteer in Easton, Grace was involved in her children’s scout troops, women’s clubs and committees at the Easton YWCA (now Third Street Alliance), co-founder of the downtown Drop-in Center for teens in the 1960s, various card clubs and loyal member of Green Pond United Methodist Church. Once her children were grown she worked for Easton National Bank and Trust and its successors for over 25 years before retiring.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 5:30 PM Thursday (March 7) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to either Green Pond United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Road, Easton 18045 or The Third Street Alliance, 41 N. 3rd Street, Easton, PA 18042.
