Joseph K. Lambert, Jr., 97, of Wilson Borough, died Monday, August 24, 2026 in Kirkland Village. Born November 27, 1928 in Easton, he was the son of the late Joseph K. and Veola (Gerlach) Lambert. His wife, Audrey R. (Werkheiser) Lambert died in 2004. He was a truck driver for New Penn Motor Express for over 40 years and retired in 1993. Joe was a member of the West Easton Fire Co.
Surviving are two daughters, Dawn Lambert and her husband Bernie Kimmet and Kim Robertson and her husband, Grieg; a son, Mark Lambert and his companion Michele Hartman; a daughter-in-law, Karen Lambert; a sister, Ruth Ann Hoyt; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy Lambert, a sister, Jacquelyne Koehler and a granddaughter, Taylor.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Monday, August 31, 2026 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment will be private in Wind Gap Cemetery. I am grateful to have had Joe as a neighbor. He lived a meaningful life and was a genuinely good man. His presence in our neighborhood will be missed, and my thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you on the loss of Joe. We have many fond memories. Whether being at the cabin, playing Phase 10, going out to eat, or seeing him at the Tim Roper golf outing, Joe was always lots of fun. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of Joe. My cousin Janet Seip Kilpatrick just told me about his passing. I looked up his obituary and when I saw his picture, I said he looks just like I remember him from the Boro in the 1950’s and 60’s. I lived across the street from Joe, Audrey and kids on S 23rd Street. I remember Joe as a fun loving guy who was loved by all of us. I have many fond memories of going to his parent’s cabin in the mountains. I remember all of the beds on the 2nd floor. We always had so much fun when we were invited to the mountains.
Dawn and Kim do you remember when you, Carol and I walked to Pickeral Inn (not sure if that is the correct name). I think it was a 3 mile hike from the cabin. Our parents were going to pick us up at the store. Somewhere along the way, we ran into a bear, which I remember as being very scary. I think Kim told us not to move so we froze like statues and luckily the bear went back in the woods after our short encounter. When our parents got to the store, they did not believe we saw a bear. Eventually, they did believe us.
I also remember visiting Dawn when you lived in Gainesville. My husband was going to UF at the time.
