Dr. Jonathan Warren, 73, of Easton, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 in his home.

Born October 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Jack and Frances (Gordon) Warren.  He and his wife, Andrea (Maurer) Warren, were married 46 years.

Dr. Warren was a physician in Easton for over 40 years and retired in 2011.  He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Rutgers University.  He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency at Philadelphia General Hospital.

Surviving with his wife, Andrea, are a daughter, Becky Russell and her husband, Jeff, of Allentown; three sons, Tim Warren of Hoboken, NJ, Brad Warren and his wife, Jackie, of Baltimore, MD, and Dan Warren and his wife, Sherry, of Allentown; a brother, Matthew Warren; a sister, Cheryl Ravenscraft; and 6 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2016 in B’nai Abraham Synagogue, 1545 Bushkill St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday in the Synagogue.

Joel David Sales, 73, of Palmer Twp., PA died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born October 19, 1942 in Fountain Hill, PA he was a son of the late Irene (Rice) and Harrison T. Sales. He and his wife, the former Martha Newhart were married 49 years.

He was a 1960 graduate of Wilson High School, a 1966 graduate of Ursinus College and he received his Master’s Degree from Philadelphia University.  Joel was a teacher at the Wissahickon School District for many years before retiring and a volunteer for the Bethlehem Area Public Library and Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his wife Martha; two daughters: Amy E. Sales of Nazareth, Jean E. Sales of Palmer Twp., and a brother: David A. Sales and his wife Eileen of Bethlehem Twp., PA. He was predeceased by two brothers: Eben H. Sales and Peter R. Sales.

A calling period will be held from 10 AM to noon on Saturday (Sept. 10) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Betty G. Porter, 95, formerly of Wilson Borough, died Friday, August 26, 2016 in Sacred Heart Senior Living, Center Valley.

Born September 24, 1920 in Windber, PA, she was the daughter of the late W. Ford and Frances (Williams) Gibson.  Her husband, Ernest Brader Porter died in 1999.

Betty was a Home Economics teacher at Windber High School and Wilson Area High School.  She received a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Pennsylvania State University and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilson Borough and was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Craig Porter and his wife, Wendy, of Center Valley; Gary Williams Porter of Anchorage, Alaska; and Bruce David Porter and his wife, Cynthia, of San Jose, California; five grandchildren, Jessica Weaver and her husband William of Mililani, Hawaii; Jason Porter of Anchorage, Alaska; Heather McCue and her husband Louis of Anchorage, Alaska; and Joseph Porter and McKay Porter of San Jose, California; and a great granddaughter, Becca of Anchorage, Alaska.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 2, 2016 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 6 – 7:30 pm on Thursday in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Bradley “Brad” M. Bennetch, 78 of Bethlehem Twp., PA died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Moravian Village in Bethlehem, PA.  He was the son of the late Leonard M. and Alice (Brader) Bennetch.  A 1956 graduate of Liberty High School, he graduated from Gettysburg College (1960) and Cedar Crest College (1981) and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. Brad was a Navy veteran and purchasing agent for Bethlehem Steel for 26 years before starting his own business, Partners for Competitive Advantage.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Easton where he served as a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Rev. Sue (Palos) Bennetch; 3 sons: John Besnage and partner: Martin Rynja in London, Mark Besnage and wife Linda and their 4 children: Phillip, Cecile, Jacob and Julia in California, Christopher Besnage and wife Amy of Bethlehem; 3 step-children: Ken Kunsman and wife Jodi of Palm Harbor, FL, Lisa Young and husband Jeff of Bethlehem, Jessica Lopez and husband David of Bethlehem; a sister: Joanna Maurer of Orefield, PA; 10 grandchildren: Dan, Antonio, Madison, Ally, Sarah, Wesley, Sidney, Sadie, Lacie and Manny and his dog: Buddy.

A Memorial service will be held 7 PM Thursday (August 25) in First Presbyterian Church, 333 Spring Garden St., Easton, PA with a calling period 6 to 7 PM in the church. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.
