Bruce D. Volkert

Bruce D. Volkert, 59, of West Easton, died Friday, December 9, 2016 in his home.

Born April 4, 1957 in Easton, he was a son of the late Glenn G. and Shirley (Foose) Volkert.

He was a truck driver for Exel Logistics.

Surviving are his son, Kyle, girlfriend, Judy Werner, sisters, Glenda Martin and Nancy Hutchison.

Joseph C. Ullery

Joseph “Joe” C. Ullery, age 75, of The Villages, FL passed away at his residence on Friday, December 09, 2016. He was born in Johnstown, PA on November 13, 1941. Joe attended Potomac State University in W. Virginia. He served in the US Marines. After his military service Joe started to work with the Department of Defense as an Analyst. He retired after 33 years of service. Then he worked for 10 years as a substitute teacher in Annapolis, MD. Joe enjoyed golfing, swimming and target shooting. He was an avid fisherman in The Keys and Montana. Joe especially liked spending time with his children and grandchildren in Deep Creek Lake, MD and taking his pet dog Heidi on golf cart rides. He moved to The Villages in 2006.

He is survived by his wife Laurie Vanderbilt Ullery; children Todd Joseph Ullery and his wife Marilyn of Hagerstown, MD and Scott Anthony Ullery and his wife Anita of Glen Burnie, MD; grandchildren Jason, Michaela, Joseph, Cori, David and Sarah; great grandchildren Joseph, Autumn, Marshall, AJ and Nicco. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph H. and Jesse M. Ullery.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Riegelsville Cemetery.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.

Kenneth J. Monti

Kenneth Joseph Monti, 59 of Palmer Twp., PA died Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus. Born June 19, 1957 in Hoboken, NJ he was a son of the late Carmela (Micciche) and Joseph L. Monti. He and his wife, Christine (Sersun) Monti  have been married for 31 years.  A graduate of North Hunterdon High School he was employed by ShopRite for many years, most recently at the ShopRite of Bethlehem. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Palmer Twp.

He is survived by his wife Christine; three children: Jared Monti and his wife Harleigh, Matthew Monti and his fiancé Megan Whipple, and Rachel Monti all of Palmer Twp.; a sister: Bernadine Wagner of Forks Twp., PA and two grandchildren: Carmela and Mikaela.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, Dec. 10, in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton, with visitation 5 PM to 8 PM Friday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  Interment is in Gethsemane Cemetery.

John J. Todaro

John J. Todaro, 82, of Palmer Township, died Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg.

Born January 7, 1934 in Easton, he was a son of the late Liborio and Lucy (Zammatore) Todaro.  He and his wife, Rosina (Nesci) Todaro, were married 54 years.

John was a property manager and entrepreneur in the Easton area.  He was also known as “John from Palmer” on various local radio stations.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Italian American Culture Club.

Surviving with his wife, Rosina, are three daughters, Lucy Dadlani of Bethlehem, Rose DeFranco of Forks Township and Cathy Dolan of Easton; a son, John Todaro of Nazareth; a sister, Teresa Fretz of Wilson Borough; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Two brothers, Thomas and Joseph Todaro died earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh St., Easton.  Entombment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Darwin G. Gano

Darwin G. Gano, 92 of Palmer Twp., PA died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, PA. Born August 6, 1924 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late Ervin and Viola (Bartow) Gano. He and his wife, the former A. Carlynne Baxter, have been married for 70 years.

He was 1942 graduate of Easton High School and a WWII army veteran. He had been employed at the Northampton County Courthouse as Director of Printing and Mail Services for many years before retiring.

He is survived by his wife: A. Carlynne; twin daughters: Carol Ann Politi of Slatington, PA and Lynn Nora Gano of Orwigsburg, PA; a son: Darrell A. Gano with whom he resided; a sister: Velma G. Eachus of Delaware; and 2 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter: Alice Ann Gano and brothers: Alfred, Victor and Hilton Gano.

Jose G. Sanabria

Jose G. Sanabria, 90 of Easton, PA died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services, Easton. Born January 10, 1926 in Santo Domingo Las Villas, Cuba he was a son of the late Andres and Lorenza Sanabria. He had been a jeweler in New York City for many years before retiring and then worked for Liz Claiborne in New Jersey.

He is survived by a step-son, niece and nephews. His wife Olga died earlier.

Anne M. Ballantine

Anne M. Ballantine, 79, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, November 25, 2016 in Easton Hospital.

Born April 17, 1937 in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Glaccum) Briscoe.

Surviving are two daughters, Leslie Ballantine and Bridget Ballantine, a son, Arthur Golej and a grandson.

Michael E. Davis

Michael Edward Davis, 25 of Palmer Twp., PA died Monday, November 21, 2016 at Easton Hospital. Born June 17, 1991 in Phillipsburg, NJ he was a son of Noreen (Caffrey) and Russell R. Davis with whom he resided.

He graduated from Easton High School in 2009 where he played football, lacrosse and was in the band and orchestra. He graduated from Northampton Community College in 2013 and received a degree in criminal justice from Lock Haven University in 2015. Michael was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. He was employed by the Verizon Store in Forks Twp. and prior to that by Little Caesars in Palmer Twp.

In addition to his parents, Noreen and Russell, he is survived by a brother: Russell C. “Rusty” Davis of Bethlehem, PA; a sister: Sarah Garrecht and her partner Jonas Woodring of Palmer Twp.;  half-sister: AnnMarie Vaughn of Forks Twp., PA; grandparents: Charles R. Caffrey and Caroline Maddock both of Phillipsburg, NJ; 2 nieces: Jenna and Myah and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held 12 PM Tuesday, (Nov. 29) in First Moravian Church, 225 N. 10th St., Easton, with a calling period 4 PM to 7 PM Monday (Nov. 28) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.
