Robert C. Freund, 53, of Tamaqua, PA died Monday, April 20, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, PA following a motorcycle accident in Schuylkill County, PA on April 11th. Born December 1, 1972 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Kay (Showers) and James P. Freund, Sr. He was a graduate of Easton High School and was employed by Packaging Corporation of America for more than 20 years. Rob was an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman. He loved hiking, kayaking, photography and playing his guitar.
He is survived by his sister: Theresa A. Sostorecz (husband Kevin Pfingst) of High Bridge, NJ; his brother: David W. Freund of Deltona, FL; his children: James and Sophie Freund; and nieces: Julia, Reilly and Samantha. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother: James P. Freund, Jr.
Rob gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation; this generosity will touch the lives of many people. Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate Rob’s life in a way meaningful for each. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton, PA is handling arrangements. We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Robbie. We had know Robbie as a child and a neighbor for many years. We send our love and support to Terri, David, and Robbie’s children and family.

So sorry to hear about Rob. I enjoyed camping with him. Him & Mel always brought a smile & ray of sunshine even on the dreariest days & was always kind & helpful. He will be missed.
