Theda L. Lewis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks. She was 104 years old.

Born on January 3, 1922 in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Helen (Lesher) Richards.

Theda was a proud member of the Easton High School Class of 1939. After working for a few years after graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 at the same time as her brother, Donald F. Richards, and then served until 1946. Theda received training in New York City and Boston before being stationed at the Anacostia Naval Air Station outside of Washington D.C.

She was a longtime secretary at both Easton Hospital and Easton Area High School from which she retired in 1984.

She enjoyed serving on the Easton High School Class of 1939 Reunion Committee for many years in addition to being a member of the Women’s Board of Easton Hospital. When not involved in outside activities, she loved keeping up with world news and entertainment on her iPad.

Theda is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Cindy) Lewis-Hart with whom she resided, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald.
