Dave’s family is heartbroken to announce that David L. Ott, 65, of Easton, PA passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and faithful companion, Lilly, his English Cream Retriever, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born December 15, 1957 in Betts Hospital, Easton, he was the son of the late Edward and Lois (Lennen) Ott. He graduated from Easton High School in 1975 and later earned his Master’s Plumbers license from LCCC. He worked at Easton Hospital for 30 years, transitioned to Dual-Temp and finally, followed his dream by owning and operating Ott’s Plumbing, LLC. He was often referred to as the plumber of College Hill.
Dave touched many lives in his short time with us, he was known as “Otter” to some of his closest friends and was the kindest, most gentle, hardworking, and caring man anyone could know. A true gentleman, he was dedicated to his family, with a passion for life and, of course, his black C6 Corvette. But Dave’s zest for life came mostly from time spent on the Delaware River. There are so many special memories created from canoeing, jet skiing, boating, waterskiing, or even just sitting peacefully on the dock with family and friends! The river will always be “our happy place” because of Dave!
Dave was a member of the Delaware Canoe Club, Easton Area Corvette Club, Allentown Area Corvette Club, Easton Hospital Bowling League and a member of numerous softball leagues throughout the area, including: Industrial League, Metro League and Palmer League.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa (Hess) Ott; his daughter: Jennifer Ott of Easton; his siblings: Edward Ott (Nancy) of Forks Twp., PA, Tom Ott of Kansas City, MO, Janet Miller (Allen) of Mt. Bethel, PA, Robert Ott of Easton, Paul Ott (Lori) of Cummings, GA; 3 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly: Isabel, Isaac, and Cali and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A calling period will be held Friday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 6 PM in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St. Easton, PA. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Lisa and Jennifer ask that you spend a little extra “quality” time with a loved one, as life is too short, and each moment is special.

My deepest condolences go out for the whole Ott
Family. Grew up on College Hill and the Otts were part of the Delaware/Eddyside/College Hill culture. Davey was the consummate gentleman. Self educated and strived to be the best at work and socially. Great family man and friend to many.
I was lucky to know him as a child growing up and working at Easton Hospital. RIP my friend. May our Lord have a special place for you, and as he watches out for Lisa and the rest of your family.🙏🙏🙏

To Lisa, Jen, Dave’s brothers , and sister we are so very sorry for your loss. We loved Dave soo much! He was the salt of the Earth! I will cherish all the memories we shared together since I was a young girl. He showed me how to canoe in the Delaware, took me for rides on his motorcycle, and corvette, he even tried to perfect my bowling game . Dave was always a phone call away if we had a plumbing emergency . One in awhile he would stop by to let Lily run in the fields behind our house. He was a lifelong friend. I will miss our life conversations and his infectious laugh! Rest In Peace dear friend. Everyone needs an “Otter” in their life. Keeping you all close in prayer during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to Lisa, Jenn, Ed and the Ott family at this very difficult time. Dave was one in a million a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed. Over the years at Easton Hospital, Dave always volunteered with events planned whether to raise money, kids parties, or picnics or bowling league he was always there. He worked hard through the years to establish his own business and once again always there to help friends in need. May he rest in peace; you certainly will be missed. I will miss our great talks about your family and of course the corvette, Fly high “Otter”. Love you.

Dave was a true friend that will always stay in my heart. He will be missed dearly as I send my condolences to all the family members. I will never forget the wonderful times we had and seeing each other growing from childhood up into our adult years on College Hill. The Delaware River was his home away from home and those days I will never forget. Rest in peace always and forever.

My deepest condolences to Edward,Tommy, Janet, Bobby, Paul, and the rest of the Ott family. Most of my childhood is filled with fond memories growing up with the Otts on College Hill. The spirited games of kickball, block chase …, chestnut and pine cone battles, building forts and finally a real shelter “THE HUT” summers spent on the river canoeing and swimming at Eddyside. Dave will surely be missed but know we grieve for our loss not for his passing. Rest in pease Dave.
