As the candle’s flame burns out
A new star appears in the sky
The time has now come
For us to say goodbye
You shined brightly and warmly
Your love covered us all
You cared and you comforted
And picked us up when we’d fall
Your laugh was contagious
Your smile lit the room
Your heart glowed so brightly
And chased off the gloom
But now it is time
For you to get rest
And know that you always
Did your absolute best
To care for your family
And now it’s our turn
To carry on the torch
May it forever burn.
