Joan M. Cotonzare, 91, of Palmer Township, was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Born March 17, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Weir) Steblin. Her husband, Frank Cotonzare, Jr. died in 2002. Joan’s life was dedicated to her family, caregiving at various jobs throughout the Lehigh Valley and she was a devoted member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church, Palmer Township.
Surviving are her children, JoAnn Birdsong, Frank Cotonzare, III and his partner, Traci Litwin, and Suzan Fimiano and her husband, Chester; four grandchildren, Isaiah and his wife, Tanisha, Eden and her husband, Mark, Rena, and Chloe and her fiancé, Andrew; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Roberts and Thomas Roberts.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 in Bethel Memorial Baptist Church, 715 Chestnut Lane, Palmer Township. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:30 am on Wednesday in the church. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
