Walter V. Francis, Sr.

Walter V. Francis, Sr. 80, of Forks Twp., PA died Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Easton Campus. Born May 20, 1943 in Easton, he was a son of the late Walter and Jane (Smith) Francis. He was a graduate of Easton High School and was a sharpshooter in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Lehigh Cordage for many years before retiring. Walter was a member of the American Legion, Lester Pfeffer Post; the Golden Arrows Motorcycle Club and was a volunteer driver for Forks EMS. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Eagles and Nascar, but above all else he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria (Haycock) Francis; his children: Kelli Schiraldi (Erich) of Quakertown, PA, Kitti-Jo Hughes (Ronald) of Palmer Twp., PA, Walter Francis, Jr. (Jennie) of Easton; his beloved 9 grandchildren: Cristal, Robert, Sara, Anthony, Gabrielle, Bethany, Danika, Gavin, David; and 10 great-grandchildren: Layla, Lilliana, Damien, Lidia, Carlee, Tyler, Kensleigh, Eliana, Landyn and Jax. His brother George Francis died earlier.

Services are 11 AM Tuesday (July 11) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA with visitation 10 to 11 AM. Burial is in Arndts Cemetery with military honors.     Our deepest Condolences to you Gloria and the entire Family. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.     We extend our deepest condolences to you all, during this difficult time. Walt was such a GREAT Man who raised and AWESOME family. I can remember him always being the life of the parties we attended as children. Especially when George and my dad Barry Sr. Was around because they was a force to be reckoned with. Remember all the good times during the bad and cherish all the wonderful memories you all made together and know that one day we will all be together again. You will be missed but NEVER FORGOTTEN

    I’m very saddened by hearing about my Uncle’s passing. I truly have no words except that I loved him dearly and will miss him. He always knew how to get me going and well I won’t go into the details but yeah….. love you Uncle Walt and won’t ever forget all our times together growing up ❤️
