I’d like to add some more to this obituary, although all of the information is correct, it seems very skeletal for a woman who lived a wonderful life of 94 years. I’m uncertain of who might read this but I know me and my family are happier putting it out there to give honor and love to a woman who gave so much to us.

Virginia Wetmore, also known as “Muddy” (or “GranMuddy” by her grandchildren) was a loving, sophisticated, witty, wonderful woman. Her passions in life included ballet, reading, and tennis to name the top few. She was not only a ballet instructor but also a ballerina with a love of ballet that stuck with her during her whole life. She was an avid reader. To this end, she started a reading club at her apartment complex in which she lived many years after the death of her husband, James E. Wetmore in 1989. She was also so fond of tennis that she would not even answer the phone during Wimbledon or other major tennis events.

She is survived by her son Michael J. Wetmore and his wife Barbara of Stroudsburg, PA; 3 granddaughters, Lauren Wetmore and partner Harold Bledsoe of Oakland, CA; Tracey Cato and husband Mark and children Emma and Sara of Powder Springs, GA; and Barbara Adams and husband Todd of Nenana, AK, and many nieces and nephews including Kimberly Lucas. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Fran Gassaway of Bethlehem, PA.

She will be missed deeply by her famiy
