Bryant J. Matyger, 71 of Wilson Borough, PA died Monday, July 30, 2018 at Easton Hospital. Born November 1, 1946 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late Liboria (Tita) and Frank Matyger, Sr. A graduate of Phillipsburg High School, he played bass guitar in several area rock n’ roll bands and was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army with the 1st/38th Infantry Battalion serving DMZ Korean Combat Duty. He graduated from the Allentown School of Cosmetology, studied under a 2nd generation Vidal Sassoon trained mentor and opened five salons in the Easton area. Bryant restored three historic homes dating back to the 1880’s (two of the homes were on the Historic Easton House Tours) and he loved creating water gardens. He also renovated the Mohican Market for businesses and a cafe and restored a 1964 Jaguar, later selling it at the national Barret-Jackson Auction. Very creative and with varied interests, Bryant could “turn a chicken coop into a palace.”
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, the former Louise A. Crivellaro; a brother: Frank Matyger, Jr. (wife Sandra) of Nazareth, PA; and nieces: Tonia, Tina and Melissa.
Services are 10 AM Tuesday (Aug. 7) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, with visitation 6 to 7:30 PM Monday. Interment is in Hays Cemetery.

Bryant and Louise were the greatest next-door neighbors and truest friends anyone could ever have, and there have never been two warmer, more generous hosts. A shared dinner was never a mere meal, but an elaborate, sumptuous banquet, accompanied by lively conversation and, invariably, Bryant’s unforgettable tales and raconteuring. Bryant was an inveterate creator with a boundless imagination and the extremely rare, irrepressible determination to make his dreams into realities–whether constructing from scratch in his backyard a fantasy garden of fountains, cascading koi ponds, and a tiki bar connected by a pulley-delivery system to his third-floor terrace; carving out and leveling perfectly a bocce court; or restoring that beautiful jaguar automobile to prize-winning form. Bryant: we love you and Louise, and will always remember you! –Eric and Lee

It is with deep sorrow that I’m writing this about my very best friend which I called my brother. We grew up together and spent many great years sharing each other‘s achievements accomplishments and good times together. Bryant was a man who achieved everything he started in music, art and professionalism in his work and loving and caring for everyone. He will be deeply missed my sincere condolences to his wife Louise.

Louise, our deepest condolences are with you. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of my “Uncle Bryant”. I am so grateful to have known and considered him (and you) family. I know it has been quite a long time since I have seen either of you, but the memories feel like just yesterday.

Louise,
Please accept our condolences and deepest sympathy for Bryant’s passing.
He will be sorely missed by all the lives he touched.
We are certain that now his latest project is Touching up those Pearly Gates with his artistic Gold Leaf expression.
May God provide Bryant the long overdue rest that he deserves after completing so many worthwhile and rewarding projects.
May God bless you and keep you strong during this difficult time.
Love, Ken and Linda

The world lost a good man and a great host.
But now he is not suffering, and is probably organizing a great event in the afterlife.
Peace, my friend.
