Chrysanthe Swan, 92, of Easton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut. Born June 15, 1928 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Anthony G. and Margaret (Schratt) Englesson. On October 22, 1950 she married the only love of her life, Frank W. Swan, and together they shared 63 years before his passing in 2014. Chris was a 1945 graduate of William Allen High School and attended Churchman’s Business School. “Teeny” as she was called her entire life, went on to work as a bookkeeper at Montgomery Ward until the birth of her first child.
Chris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many. She was unparalleled in her zeal for life, her constant quest for knowledge and her artistic creativity. Chris loved to laugh, went to great lengths to make every occasion special and was proud of her Greek heritage. She was especially proud of her PA state award for never missing an election. All who knew Chris would tell you she was quick to care for friends, family and neighbors, delivering meals, well wishes and treasured pieces of original art. She worshipped at the former Christ Lutheran Church and most recently at St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a passionate contributor to St. John’s Art Gallery Committee as well as an active member of Friends of the Library, her Quilters group, Forks Township Art Guild and Writers Group, and the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees. Over the years Chris collected thousands of bottle caps for Big Brothers / Big Sisters and aluminum can tabs for a neighboring elementary school.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Maura); her son Thomas (Susan); her brothers: George and Emmanuel Englesson; two grandchildren: Stephanie (Jeff) and Andrew (Candace); and two great grandchildren: Rebecka and Addy Chrysanthe.
Services are 10 AM Saturday (April 24) in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 330 Ferry St., Easton with visitation from 9 to 10 AM in the church. Interment is in Easton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Easton Public Library, 515 Church St., Easton, PA 18042 or Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd., Easton, PA 18042. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

My condolences and sympathies to the Swan Family. I met your family so many years ago as I think Tom and I were in 7th or 8th grade! I remember family gatherings and LOTS of great food.
She was a kind, generous, and very active community spirited person.
I am back in the LV area again after living in Denver for a few years.
It would be great to catch up sometime.
Keep those great memories alive and in your hearts.
