Lynda Sandt, 55, of Phillipsburg, NJ died Friday, February 8, 2013 at home.

Born: May 19, 1957 in Easton she was a daughter of the late Thomas LaBarre and Grace Turdo LaBarre Raub.

Personal: She had been employed by the Crayola Co. for 3 years and at the Weston Club for 14 years.   Survivors: Children: Kiesha Sandt and her fiancé Clarence Jones of Phillipsburg; Jennie Sandt; Mark Sandt, Jr. both of Easton; Cindy Karcher and her husband Craig of Bethlehem; husband: Mark Sandt, Sr.; brothers: Frank White; Thomas Raub; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special caregivers: Jobecca Kvanzado, Michelle Richie; and “bestest” friend Ettie Lilly. She was predeceased by her companion: Michael Strunk and brother: Grant White.

Services: A Gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday (2/13) in the O’Donnell Building social hall, 235 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Adele Trayes

Adele Trayes, 84, of Bangor, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Country Meadows.

Born:  September 18, 1928 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Rev. I. James and Margaret (McFall) Bobst.

Personal:  Her husband, Raymond A. Trayes died in 2011.  She worked with her husband at his CPA practice in Bangor and retired in 1991.

Memberships:  She was a member of First United Evangelical Congregational Church, Bangor, the Welch Society and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors:  Two daughters, Nancy Broadbent and her husband, Fred of Palmer Township and Susan Lane and her husband, Thomas of Henderson, NV; a son, Dr. Richard C. Trayes and his wife, Celia of Hawley; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services:  1:30 pm Tuesday, in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Bangor.  Call from 1:00 pm until service time Tuesday in the funeral home.

Ambrose Butler

Ambrose Butler, 81, of Easton died Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Easton Hospital.

Born: May 27, 1931 in Pottstown he was a son of the late Mahlon and Rose Allen Butler.

Personal: He was a mason with the Local Labor Union #1174 for many years before retiring. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Memberships: He was a member of VFW Post #1290 and the Paradise Club.

Survivors: His longtime companion: Gladys Smith; children: Ambrose Smith, Jr. and wife Jeannene; Michael Smith and fiancé Dawn Cox; Troy Smith and companion: Sherry McGee; Cheryl Pippenger; Joanne Truss; Brenda Smith and fiancé Curtis Wilson; Jeannie Smith; Gladys Jackson and husband Larry; Gerry Bailey and husband Oral; Debra Lee and husband Allen all of Easton; Roland Smith and Donna Smith both of Allentown; brothers: Bobby and Alfred Butler; 32 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son James Smith.

Services: Are private; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Thomas J. Eardley

Thomas J. Eardley

Thomas J. Eardley, 68, of Forks Township died Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Gracedale.

Born:  November 9, 1944 in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John and Madeline (Connors) Eardley and the step-son of Alberta Eardley of Roseto.

Personal:  He and his wife, the former Judith Bacelli were married 45 years.   He was a nuclear production planner for Ingersoll Rand, Phillipsburg for 33 years and a security guard for Binney and Smith, Forks Township.  He was a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Memberships:  He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Forks Township.  He was also a member of the Order of Fleas, Easton and he was an avid golfer and walker.

Survivors:  wife, Judith; two daughters, Jody Bigelow and her husband, Jim of Forks Township and Shannon Eardley of Florida; three sisters, Madeline Sabler of Allentown, Sarah Schaffer of California and Diane Shaw of Roseto; two brothers, Morris Fetzer of Georgia and David Fetzer of Steel City and three grandchildren, James Bigelow, Reed Bigelow and Kyleigh Pollack.

Services:  11:00 am Monday in Faith Lutheran Church, 2012 Sullivan Trail, Forks Township.  Interment in Forks Cemetery.  Call from 7 – 8:30 pm Sunday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.

David L. Golden

David Lee Golden, 66, of Bethlehem Twp., PA died Monday, February 4, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg.   Born: Born March 4, 1946 in Easton he was a son of Marian (Stoneback) Golden of Wilson Borough and the late Clair J. Golden, Sr.

Personal: A graduate of Easton High School in 1964 and Northampton Community College in 1972, he had been an Electrician for 22 years before retiring in 2009. Prior to that he had been employed by the Victor Balata Co. for 10 years and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Memberships: He was a member of the GTO Association of PA serving as their Vice-President from 1989 to 1992.

Survivors: His mother: Marian; his wife of 38 years: the former Deborah Kocher; a son: Doug of Houston, TX; 3 brothers: George of Glenmoor, PA; Carl and his wife Linda of Burlington, NJ; and Paul and his wife Loraine of Bethlehem Twp. He was predeceased by a brother: Clair, Jr.

Services: Will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Memorial Contributions: May be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Brooks Robinson Statler

Brooks Robinson Statler, 34, of Wilson Borough, died Saturday, February 2, 2013.

Born:  March 7, 1978 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was a son of Thomas C. and Susan J. (Robinson) Statler of Wilson Borough.

Personal:  Brooks was a graduate of Wilson Area High School and attended Northampton Community College. He was formerly a motor coach operator for LANTA.

Survivors:  Parents, Thomas and Susan; daughter, Skyler Elizabeth Statler of Bethlehem Township; three sisters, Julianne W. Petrides of Bethlehem, Marirose Statler of Wilson Borough and Lauren Rae Statler of Wilson Borough; five brothers, Thomas C. Statler, Jr. of Easton, Christian Adam Statler of Hellertown, Andrew Peter Statler of Phillipsburg, Maxwell Donovan Statler of Wilson Borough and Alexander Thomas Statler of Palmer Township.

Services:  Services will be private. Arrangements by Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.

Maureen M. “Reenie” Finken

Maureen M. “Reenie” Finken, 80, of Bath, formerly of West Easton, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in New Eastwood Care Center.

Born:  May 2, 1932 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence J., Sr., and Olive P. (Haydt) O’Toole.

Personal:  Her husband, Richard D. Finken died in 1992.  She worked at Easton Hospital for over 25 years and retired in 2001.

Memberships:  She was a life member of West Easton Fire Co. Auxiliary and a member of the Senior Center, Bath.

Survivors:  A son, Albert K. Finken and his wife, Becky of Bath; a daughter, Linda M. Hlasney and her husband, Mike of Northampton; two brothers, John O’Toole and Thomas O’Toole; two sisters, Nancy Stump and Elizabeth Eckhart; 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Two brothers, Patrick O’Toole and Lawrence O’Toole and a grandson died earlier.

Services:  10:30 am Tuesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St, Easton.  Call from 9:30 am until service time Tuesday in the funeral home.

Raymond W. “Coop” Coopersmith

Raymond W. “Coop” Coopersmith, 68, of Easton, died Friday, February 1, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born:  January 4, 1945 in Easton, he was a son of the late Raymond and Eleanor Coopersmith.

Personal:  He worked for Easton Taxi for 40 years and Flock Industries, Phillipsburg.   He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Memberships:  He was a life member of the Order of Fleas, Easton.

Survivors:  a son, Raymond M. Coopersmith of Easton; a daughter, Sandy Lawrence of Allentown; a brother, Frederick Coopersmith; 7 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Services:  3:00 pm Tuesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Call from 2:00 pm until service time Tuesday in the funeral home.
