Joseph H. Katrick

Joseph H. Katrick, 68, of Easton died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Easton Hospital.

Born: December 31, 1944 in Staten Island, NY he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Hayne Katrick.

Personal: He had been employed by Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg for more than 30 years before retiring. He also served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Memberships: He was a member of the Northampton Cty. Marine Corps League; American Legion; a lifetime member of Concordia Maennerchor and he served on the Board of the Young Democratic Club.

Survivors: Children: Alyssa Katrick of Toms River, NJ; Joseph Katrick of Martins Creek; step-children: Rich Moyer of Easton; Tina Moyer of Bangor; a brother: Ronnie; step-granddaughter: Jada Smith and former wife: Maureen Abate. He was predeceased by his companion of many years: Connie Davis.

Services: A calling period will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. A Celebration of His Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20th in the Young Democratic Club, 1709 Butler Street, Easton.

William F. Werner, Jr.

William F. Werner, Jr., 70, of Milford, PA formerly of Easton and Connecticut died Monday, March 25, 2013 at home.

Born: September 22, 1942 in Seattle, WA he was the son of the late William, Sr. and Effie (Slegel) Werner.

Personal: He was a Vietnam Army veteran and had been employed by Ethan Allan in Danbury, CT and American Can in Easton for many years. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors: His wife of 44 years: the former Penny Primrose; daughters: Jill Werner of Danbury, CT; Heidi Werner and her husband Louis Ruggiero of Sandy Hook, CT; son: Neil Werner and his wife Colleen of Orlando, FL; sister: Susanne LeClair and her husband Dale of Elgin, SC; and 6 grandchildren: Grace and Nathan Ruggiero; Jordan, Alexis, Kori and Hunter Werner.

Services: A calling period will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday (3/29) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA. Interment will be private.

Memorial Contributions: May be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Barbara Bader Prince

Barbara Bader Prince, resident of Aventura, FL formerly of Easton died March 25, 2013 at her home.

Born: in New York, NY, raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late David and Edith Schwartz Bader.

Personal: She and her husband, the late Hilary “Corky” Prince, were longtime residents of Easton, PA.

Survivors: Two daughters: Marcy Allison Prince of Miami, FL; Diane Prince Goula of Scottsdale, AZ and three grandchildren: Nicholas Falgiatore, Stephen Goula and Jason Goula.

Services: Barbara will be laid to rest with her beloved Corky in Easton Cemetery in a private ceremony.

Michael A. Dennis, 30, of Wilson Borough died Monday, March 25, 2013 in Easton Hospital.

Born: May 18, 1982 in Wilson Borough, PA he was a son of Robert A. and Pamela (Billman) Dennis of Wilson Borough.

Personal: A graduate of Wilson High School he had most recently been employed by Bottom Dollar in Nazareth.

Memberships: He was a member of the Knight Realms.

Survivors: His parents: Robert and Pamela; and brother: Christopher T. of Wilson Borough.

Services:  10:30 a.m. Friday (3/29) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with a calling period from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Evelyn B. Stem

Evelyn B. Stem, 92, of Wilson Borough, died Friday, March 22, 2013 in ManorCare, Palmer Township.

Born:  March 11, 1921 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Massey) Werkheiser.

Personal:  Her husband, Leander K. Stem died in 1979.  She graduated from Wilson High School in 1939 and worked for Northampton Community College.  She also enjoyed her garden, flowers and her family.

Memberships:  Evelyn was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, Bethlehem and the former First Evangelical Congregational Church at 10th St., Easton.

Survivors:  A son, Larry Welch and his wife, Shirley of Schwenksville; a daughter, Jean Orse and her husband, William of Bangor; a step-son, Lee; a step-daughter, Shirley; 4 grandchildren, Kevin, Christine, Mark and David and 4 great grandchildren.

Services:  10:00 am Tuesday, March 26 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  Call from 9:00 am until service time Tuesday in the funeral home.

Janet F. Caffrey, 88, formerly of Easton, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born:  January 16, 1925 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late William and Sadie Zimmerman.

Personal:  She worked for Western Electric, Allentown for several years.

Survivors:  A sister, Ruth Rose of Oregon.

Services:  Private interment will be held in Easton Heights Cemetery.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

George Rupple

George Rupple, 67, formerly of Easton, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Easton Hospital.

Born:  November 29, 1945 in Wilson Borough, he was a son of the late Everitt and Anna (Amato) Rupple.

Personal:  He and his wife, the former Barbara J. Dowling were married 18 years.  He worked for Lafayette College until retiring in 2008 and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Memberships:  George was a member of First Lutheran Church, Stewartsville where he served on Church Council and he was a member of Citizen’s Hose Co., Easton.

Survivors:  wife, Barbara; son, George E. Rupple of Easton; daughter, Sharon Marie Rupple of Easton; step-daughter, Amanda Turille of Omaha, NE; 2 brothers, Joe Amato and Phil Amato; 2 sisters, Bea Guadagnino and Pattie Romano, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Services:  2:30 pm Tuesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  Call from 1:30 pm until service time Tuesday in the funeral home.
