John E. “Jack” Madison

John E. “Jack” Madison, 87, of Palmer Twp. died Friday, January 27, 2012 in Easton Hospital.

Born:  August 24, 1924 in Durham, PA he was a son of the late John and Fannie Laird Madison. He and his wife, the former Joyce Harper have been married for 63 years.

Personal: A graduate of Easton High School, he had been employed by the Pfizer Company for more than 40 years before retiring in 1987. He had been very active with the Palmer Recreation Board and coached his sons in Little League and his granddaughter’s softball team. He was a WWII Navy veteran.

Survivors: His wife: Joyce; 2 sons: Dr. John B. and his wife Sandy of Ocala, FL; Scott E. and his wife Melinda of Lexington, KY; brother: James of Easton; sisters: Evelyn Mader in MD and Dorothy Pfeffer of Phillipsburg, NJ; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer and Michael; and 4 step-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 30) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with a calling period from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.

Memorial Contributions: May be made to Bethel Memorial Baptist Church, 715 Chestnut Lane, Easton, PA 18045.

Joseph Greco

January 21, 2012

Joseph Greco, 81, formerly of Bangor, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 in Gracedale.

Born: December 10, 1930 in Manhattan, he was a son of the late Michael Publezano and Mary Greco.

Services: Services will be private. Interment will be in Forks Cemetery. The Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton is handling the arrangements.

Lester Rittenhouse

January 18, 2012

Lester Rittenhouse, 84, of Saylorsburg formerly of Raubsville, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Pocono Medical Center.

Born: October 28, 1927 in Brainards, NJ, he was a son of the late Stewart and Margaret (Miller) Rittenhouse.

Personal: Lester was a self-employed mechanic in Raubsville. His wife, the former Grace E. Rissmiller died in 2004.

Survivors: Three sons, Kenneth E. Rittenhouse, Lester F. Rittenhouse and George VanBuskirk; three daughters, Jessie Cuvo, Melinda Dunn and Susan Muhr; two sisters; 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 pm Monday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Call from 12:30 pm until service time Monday in the funeral home.

Tammy Lynn Maysonet

January 17, 2012

Tammy Lynn Maysonet, 33, of Easton died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in the University of Penn Hospital in Philadelphia.

Born: October 7, 1978 in Easton she was a daughter of Theresa Markle McNally of Easton and the late John McNally, Jr.  She and her husband Alex Maysonet have been married for 8 years.

Personal: A 1997 graduate of Easton High School, she had been employed by Boscov’s for several years and was an avid Giants fan.

Survivors: Her husband Alex; children: Ulysses and Alexa both at home; her mother; brothers; sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Visitation will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 20) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton.

Memorial Contributions: May be made to the family % the funeral home.

Myrtle N. Chorones

Myrtle N. Chorones, 83, of Bangor, formerly of Wilson Borough died Monday, January 16, 2012.
 
Born: September 22, 1928 in Easton she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Myrtle Bond Waltz. Her husband Anthony Chorones, Sr. died in 2000.

Personal: She had been employed by Magnetic Windings in Easton and Ametek in Allentown for several years.

Survivors:  a son: Anthony Chorones, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Catasauqua; daughters: Roxann Nasatka and her husband Kevin of Bangor; Reyne Sousa and her husband Gilbert of Martinsville, NJ; Diana Chorones of Nazareth; sisters: Betty Pritchard and Nancy Hartzell of Easton; 6 grandchildren: Stephanie Washburn, Timothy Chorones; Tracy Sheetz,; Anthony, Stephen and Joseph Nasatka; and 4 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Austin, Chase and Madison. She was predeceased by her husband and a brother: Floyd Waltz and sister: Marie Dailey.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday (1/19) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with a calling period from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Rebecca B. Wolf

Rebecca B. Wolf, daughter of Walter, Jr. and Lynette Ogletree Wolf of Easton was stillborn Friday, January 13, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Survivors: Her parents; sisters: Shrkara and Tyssina Bright;  and grandparents: Walter Wolf, Sr., Patricia Bean, Diane Smith all of Easton and the late Willie Ogletree.

Services:  Graveside, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (1/18) in Hay’s Cemetery, Easton, PA; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Leatha Ann “Pat” Moore

Leatha Ann “Pat” Moore, 57, of Easton passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at home.

Born: June 10, 1954 in Easton to the late John Robert and Willie Nell Wheeler-Moore.

Personal:  She was a graduate of Easton HS Class of 1973, Churchman’s Business College and she attended NCC. Pat will always be remembered as a person who could brighten a day and was willing to take anyone in.

Memberships: She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors: Tamika Denise Moore; Edward Wayne Pope, Jr.; Khainell Oman’ Moore and Mariah May “MiMi” Watson; sister and brother: Sharon Moore and Robert Knighton;  grandfather: Leroy Hurst; 8 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and maternal grandmother Katie Mae Hurst.

Services: 3 p.m. Thursday (1/19) in the Open Bible Ev. Church,  1400 Lehigh Street, Easton with a calling period from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the church. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Harrison L. “Bud” Fisher

Harrison L. “Bud” Fisher, 98, of Palmer Township died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Easton Hospital

Born: February 14, 1913 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Edward and Sarah (Black) Fisher.

Personal: His wife, the former Mae A. Folk died in 2000. He was the head custodian at Easton High School retiring in 1978 and he was a PIAA basketball official.  He graduated from Easton High School in 1932 and played on the 1930 and 1931 football teams.  He was a coach for the Easton Midget football team at the Weston Club and a basketball coach at Easton Catholic High School.  He played softball in the Industrial League and basketball in the Bi-State League for St. Anthony’s.  He was active with the Easton Soap Box Derby. He attended 89 consecutive Easton-Phillipsburg Thanksgiving Day football games and 77 straight Lehigh-Lafayette football games.  He enjoyed attending Easton, Phillipsburg and Lafayette athletic events.  He was an avid golfer and on his 80th birthday he shot an 80 while playing in the Miz’s league at Green Pond.

Memberships: Bud was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church. He was a member of the Varsity-E club, Order of Fleas and he served on the board of the Weston Club.

Survivors: A son, Thomas F. Fisher and his wife, Linda M. of Palmer Township; a daughter, Pat M. Fisher with whom he resided; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A son, Bernard F. Fisher; a daughter, Sharon L. Helm; a brother and two sisters died earlier.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday (1/17) in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton.  Call from 6 – 7:30 pm Monday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.
