Barbara J Storm

March 31, 2020

Barbara J Storm, 80, formerly of Wilson Borough, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 6:10 am in Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth due to complications of COVID-19 and dementia.

Born July 18, 1939 in Wilson Borough PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. Storm Jr. and Erma June “Dear” Miller. She moved to her parent’s house in Wilson Borough in 1978 after her parents passed, where she lived until her placement in Gracedale on March 26, 2016. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, collecting Precious Moments, taking care of all of her numerous dogs and cats she adopted over the years and especially taking care of her granddaughter, “the apple of her eye”, Meagan E. Reibman.

Barbara graduated from Wilson Area High School, class of 1957 and attended Bloomsburg University briefly. She was employed by the County of Northampton before becoming a homemaker. Barbara was an avid bowler for many years. She enjoyed bowling at Bar-Don Lanes (which is named after her as her father built and managed the lanes until his death in 1978). She bowled until her motor vehicle accident on October 29, 2008. She was unable to continue bowling and all of her secretarial duties with numerous leagues and tournaments due to her accident.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle June Storm, Kelly Reibman (fiancée, David Balliet), Coplay PA and her granddaughter, Meagan E. Reibman of Bethlehem.  Her daughter, Mary, died earlier.

Kelly and family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff on Tower 9 at Gracedale. They are incredible passionate and took wonderful care of my mom. They will be missed greatly.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restriction, services will not be held. Burial will be done by Ashton Funeral Home, Easton, PA and interment will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine. Memorial to be done at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://act.alz.org/site/Donation2?df_id=32112&32112.donation=form1&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=paidsearch&utm_campaign=giving-bing&set.custom.wt=giving-bing&msclkid=6c37dc2f82c71543d13982ac05c9599f or to The Center of Animal Health and Welfare, https://www.healthyanimalcenter.org Easton PA where she rescued most of her cats from. Kelly and Meagan,
My deepest sympathy. I loved bowling with her because she was so much fun to be with. I first met her in the summer league in 1976. Then later we bowled on Wed mornings. We would sit at her kitchen table and talk about everything. She would make me laugh and help me through times I was upset about something. I would say to her, “Why do you drink Pepsi ? You should drink Coke like I like. “. Then she would say, “Shutup”. We would crack up laughing. Her love for animals was incredible! She would take care of them and give up her money she needed for them. The one thing I always will remember her saying to me all the time was, “It’s a great life if you don’t weaken. “ Miss you Barbara, love you. ♥️

My prayers are with you and your family. I bowled with Barb for 15 years. She always called me Pro and then she’d chuckle. She was a special lady and over the years when I didn’t bowl any more, I’d often think of her and was hoping to see her somewhere. I never did and now i know where she is. Rest in peace my bowling buddy.
