Katharine Whyte Watt, 64, of Allentown, PA died Monday, March 24, 2014 at home.

Born: October 13, 1949 in Easton, PA she was a daughter of the late Dr. William and Sidney (McGiffert) Watt.

Personal: She was the Coordinator of Religious Education at Sacred Heart Parish in Allentown and a long-time contributor to service organizations, such as the Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Hope House in Bethlehem. Educated at the University of Pennsylvania, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and Temple University, she received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship to take a writing internship at the Ravinia Music Festival in Chicago, followed by a second, during which she wrote articles for the Chicago Tribune. Her writing talent led to other assignments at the Easton Express-Times and the Philadelphia Bulletin. Ms. Watt’s religious vocation resulted in positions as Director of Religious Education at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, as well as her present job working with young people of Hispanic origin. Among her other interests, Katharine pursued vocal music and guitar, often combining her musical gifts with her commitment to education and spirituality. For these and other contributions to students, family and friends, she will be sorely missed.

Survivors: Two sisters: Barbara Watt Friend of Northampton, MA; Eloise W. Watt of Scotland and New York; and a brother: Robert M. Watt of Bethlehem, PA.

Services: A service and reception in celebration of Katharine’s life will be held at Noon, May 10, 2014 in Sacred Heart Church,  336 North 4th St., Allentown, PA.  All are welcome to come and share their memories.

Connie Phillips Shipwash, 52, of Easton, PA died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at home.

Born: May 29, 1961 in Columbus, MS she was a daughter of Cleveland Oneil and Lizzie Philips both of Columbus.

Personal: She was a crossing guard for the Easton Area School District for the past 2 years and volunteered at the Hidden Treasures Boutique.

Memberships: She was a member of several local American Legions Posts.

Survivors: Her parents; daughter: April Phillips with whom she resided; son: Maurice Phillips-Krutsick and his wife Allison of West Easton; brother: Ellis Phillips and his wife Christine of Easton; sister: Joanne Burden-Dunlap and her husband Daniel of Milwaukee, WS; 6 grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter: Niesha Phillips-Krutsick and a granddaughter.

Services: 11 AM Friday (Mar. 28) in the Greater Shiloh Church of Easton Chapel, 201 Brother Thomas Bright St., Easton with visitation from 10 to 11 AM in the church; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Hays Cemetery.

Lloyd L. Everitt, 88, formerly of Kintnersville, PA died Friday, March 21, 2014 in Gracedale.

Born:  November 18, 1925 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late George and Cora (Smith) Everitt. He and his wife, the former Stella L. Young have been married for 48 years.

Personal: He had been employed by Riegel Paper Co., Milford, NJ for 35 years before retiring in 1987. He also served in the Army during WWII.

Survivors: His wife: Stella; 3 daughters: Stella George and her husband Bill of Palmer Twp., PA, Beverly Schenewolf and her husband Joseph of Nazareth, PA, Donna Allen and her husband Steve of Williams Twp., PA; 3 step-sons: Dennis Chrin and his wife Bonnie, James Chrin and his wife Jackie all of Williams Twp., PA, Gregory Chrin and his wife Caryn of Nazareth, PA; grandchildren: Tammy Reinert, Richard “Bubby” Howey, Jr., Joey Schenewolf, Jodi Landry, Katrina Allen; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother: George “Joe” Everitt, sister: Dorothy Werkhiser, grandson: Steven Allen and a greatgranddaughter.

Services:  10:30 a.m. Wednesday (Mar. 26) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton; with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Margaret (Camp) Dennis, 80, of Forks Twp., PA passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Easton Hospital in the presence of her husband, son and Pastor.

Born: March 1, 1934 in Fredericktown, OH she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Cleo (Woodward) Camp. She and her husband Victor F. Dennis have been married for 58 years.

Personal: She was a graduate of Granby High School in Norfolk, VA where she was a proud member of the band and orchestra (playing the clarinet and bassoon). She attended William and Mary College and will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, her joy of acting in various church plays, skits and at the PA Playhouse. She was skilled in various crafts, with a special talent in crocheting. In recent years, when health problems kept her homebound, she crocheted dozens of beautiful lap robes which were donated to family, friends, churches and Gracedale. She was a skilled bridge player who enjoyed crossword puzzles. Margaret was also well known for her love of Walt Disney’s Snow White. Her home was filled with pictures from the movie, ceramic figurines and other related items.

Memberships: She was a member of  Green Pond UM Church (formerly Calvary), Easton and former member of the URW Club.

Survivors: Her husband Victor; her children: Carolyn Johnson of  Forks Twp., Mark Dennis of Bethlehem, Robert Dennis of Burbank, CA; grandsons: Sean Johnson of Easton, Colin Johnson of Philadelphia; brothers: William Camp of Pike, NH, Carol Camp of Akron, OH; and many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother Amos Camp and half-brothers: Frank and DeWitt Camp.

Services: 11 AM Saturday (Mar. 22), in Green Pond United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Rd., Easton, PA 18045 with visitation from 9:30 to 11 AM in the church. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. Interment will be private in Calkins Cemetery, Wayne County, PA.

Memorial Contributions: May be made to the church or the Wounded Warriors Project.

David L. Jacoby, 55 of Wilson Borough, PA died Sunday, March 16, 2014 after being stricken at home.

Personal: He was a professional house painter in the Lehigh Valley area and an animal lover.

Survivors:  His companion of 20 years: Patricia McBride; his daughter:  Alyssa Volkert and her husband Jerry of Easton, PA; step-children: Amanda Thomas and Harry McBride, Jr. of Easton; brothers: Donald and Dale and sister: Doreen Moser; 3 grandsons and 2 step-granddaughters. He was predeceased by his twin sister: Debra and a brother: Daniel.

Services: A calling period will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Mar. 20) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.
