    Doris, Debbie, Tommy, and Diana,

I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Tom was a wonderful presence in my life, and constant source of encouragement and a chess mentor. Through his influence I developed a love for playing chess myself, played competitively in high school, and have helped pass that love of chess along to more than 500 students over the course of my career. I know that I am not the only person for which this situation is a true. That is how one person can have an impact on the world, You can be proud of the legacy he has left. My thoughts and my prayers are with you all.

When someone you love becomes a memory; the memory becomes a treasure- so many happy memories of both Tom and Doris since our meeting and bonding on that catamaran sail in Hawaii 48 years ago! Hugs and prayers to you all.

Thinking of you, at this time of loss. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you. Thomas was a good man in service to his community. May he rest in peace!

Was shocked to hear of Thomas’s passing. He was a good chessfriend of mine. We used to play chess often in the 1990s. Thomas will be dearly missed by all who knew him. My condolences and sympathy to the Polese family.
